Let's define confidence, why it matters, and how to build it so it lasts
Defining Confidence Builders Club terms:
-
Confidence is a realistic trust in your own abilities, qualities, and judgement. It fuels resillience, motivation, and authenticity.
-
Confidence is built on evidence from past accomplishments, current skills, positive traits and repeated practice. We call these "bricks".
-
"Balloons" are an overinflated arrogance or insecurity without evidence or contrary to evidence. A positive/negative belief not backed up by reality.
Benefits of confidence built with realistic bricks:
-
Greater resillience โ Mistakes become lessons, not verdicts on your worth.
-
Increased motivation โ You move outside of your comfort zone with optimistic willingness to take the next step.
-
Improved relationships โ You show up authentically and communicate clearly.
-
Better mental health โ Less fear, anxiety, and self-doubt.
-
Stronger decisions โ You trust your judgment and avoid overthinking.
-
Career growth โ Youโre more assertive, influential, and ready for leadership.
